The cross necklace is rich in details. It depicts the Deisis (a traditional iconic representation of Christ flanked by the Virgin Mary and Saint John the Baptist). In the middle we see the Vernicle Image of the Saviour, also called the Icon of Christ of Edessa (not to have been made by hands). Below there's the icon of Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker.
The abbreviation ІС ХР on the front side means Jesus Christ, and the Russian text lower stands for Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker. The inscription on the back side is the Prayer to the Venerable Cross (Psalm 68): "Let God arise, and let His enemies be scattered".
